Cambio is a major Swedish provider of IT systems for healthcare. ÅHS is the first organisation in Finland where Cambio COSMIC has been implemented.

Pharmaca’s medication information has been extensively integrated into the COSMIC system, supporting healthcare professionals in Åland in delivering safe and rational pharmacotherapy. The databases offer structured information on, among other things:

• Drug interactions
• The suitability of drugs when planning pregnancy and during pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Drugs that increase the risk of bleeding, which should be identified and considered when planning surgical procedures
• The nutritional values of parenterally administered basic, nutritional, and replacement solutions, as well as infusions

The Pharmaca Fennica Premium online service, designed for healthcare professionals and produced by Pharmaca, will also be integrated into the Cambio COSMIC system at a later stage. This service supports pharmacotherapy decision-making, improves medication safety, and speeds up the selection of treatments and information retrieval. The service is available in Finnish, Swedish, and English.

“We have fond memories of starting the joint implementation project between Pharmaca and Cambio,” says Pharmaca’s Lead Developer Henrik Klinkmann. “In the workshop, we matched the data fields of Pharmaca’s drug databases and the Cambio COSMIC system,” he continues.
